  • About

It can be tough for children with a parent in prison. Nepacs volunteers support children & families visiting prisons in the northeast and plan special family play days. Fun, food and craft activities provide positive family memories throughout the year.

Visiting a parent or loved one can promote positive, secure attachments between the child and the parent in prison. It offers reassurance that their parent is OK and still loves them, this is key to the child being able to cope with their experience.

Nepacs support children and young people in these situations through dedicated play areas and youth zones with a range of age related activities keeping them occupied.

Our teams rely on donations to help provide toys, games, books and activities to help make these visits fun and enjoyable - helping to create positive memories of their time visiting their loved one.

A donation of just:

  • £2.50 will help us create a memory box for a young person separated from a loved one who is in prison.
  • £5 will help us provide art and craft materials during visits so that children can create something special for their loved one
  • £10 could help us buy a new toy or game for multiple children to enjoy during their visits
